The library currently has makerspaces at four locations and a 3D printing service at the Main Library. The makerspaces have a variety of tools and equipment to enable both creative and practical projects. This includes 3D printers, sewing machines, audio/visual gear, and much more. Click on one of the locations below to see what is available at each branch. In addition to equipment, materials, and space, the makerspaces host regular classes to help you get started.
Makerspaces are open to patrons aged 10 and up with a valid EBRPL card. Children under 10 must be accompanied by a guardian. While some locations have open hours, reservations may be required to use the space and/or equipment.
A 3D printer can construct a physical object from a three-dimensional computer model. Print toys, household objects, tools, contraptions, you name it! Find models at www.thingiverse.com or any other 3D model depository to get some ideas. Take one of our 3D printing badging classes to get started. Check out our events calendar for upcoming classes. Once you are “badged”, you can reserve one of our makerspaces to start 3D printing your own models!
The Cricut is a smart cutting machine capable of working with multiple materials like cardstock, vinyl, metal, leather, and so much more. Bust outpopular projects like custom cards and full-color stickers or try your hand at making your own T-shirts and tote bags. Make sure you take one of our badging classes to be trained on how to use the equipment before you make a reservation.
