About the Carver Branch Library

Overview of the Carver Branch Library

Size: 12,000 square feet

Opened: 1942 on Government Street

Rebuilt and re-opened: September 6, 2005 on Terrace Street

Originally opened in 1942 on Government Street above the Eagle Drug Store, the Carver Branch Library welcomes community members to browse new materials and use its many services.
This 12,000 square foot facility replaces the previous 3,000 square foot building on Highland Road.
Now located on Terrace Street, the Library includes a covered drive-through at the new entrance and a beautifully landscaped courtyard.
Its expansive glass walls frame a spectacular and breathtaking view of the Mississippi River Bridge.
